Abstract(in English) The recently development of trench-assisted bend-insensitive multimode fibers (BI-MMFs) with high bandwidth and low macro bend loss has lead to intense investigations. BI-MMFs trigger many leaky modes due to their bend insensitive structure, and the impact of leaky modes on transmission properties is an issue for concern. In this paper, we numerically analyze a deep trench-assisted BI-MMF based on radiation modes. The good agreement of these results with measured values confirms that the numerical analysis method described herein can well explain the effect of leaky modes in terms of macro bend loss, field distribution, and transmission properties such as DMD.
