Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Brillouin scattering usually degrades the quality of signals in optical fiber communication systems. On the other hand, Brillouin scattering has found a lot of useful applications. This article describes measurement techniques of optical fiber cables using Brillouin scattering and distributed strain/temperature sensors based on Brillouin scattering.
