Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a navigation system using augmented reality(AR)Technology using a tablet computer for operation and maintenance work in central offices. This system helps operators to work accurately and effectively when they peform installation or removal work at comector panels accommodating a large number of optica1 fiber cords, and it also ellables a database to be accurately constnlcted. However, the previous system need the specialized connection tool for fail-safe operation. So, we employ a color segmentation method in place of that colored seal, with which operators have to mark the target object for preventing mistakes. This method checks the detected position based on the segmentation against the work order, and provides a true-or-false result. The work can be undertaken effectively without the specialized tool using the proposed system In this paper, we describe the design of the proposed system, and demonstrate the performance of this system experimentally.
