Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates an application of random (opportunistic) beamforming (RB) to the base station (BS) cooperative multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. The proposal is two folds; First, we propose a block-diagonalized unitary RB matrix. The proposed RB matrix achieves better user throughput distribution compared to the pure unitary RB matrix when the average path loss due to distance-dependent loss and shadowing loss is largely different among transmitter antennas which is true in the BS cooperative MIMO. Second, we propose an online update algorithm of RB matrix to improve the throughput compared to the channel-independent RB matrix generation, especially when the number of users is small. Different from the conventional approaches, the proposed method does not increase the overhead of reference signal transmission and the control delay. The simulation results elucidate the effectiveness of the proposed method using block-diagonalized unitary RB matrix with online update in BS cooperative multiuser MIMO scenario.
