Abstract(in English) | We have developed highly integrated optical switches based on Si photonics technology in order to enlarge capacity and reduce size of CDC-ROADM. We will propose simple modular switch architecture in use of split&select optical switch for increasing number of input and output port of ROADM, still maintaining CDC function. As configuration examples, 8 x 48 and 24 x 16 TPA ( TransPonder Aggregator ) in use of our developed 8 x 8 Si photonics optical switch modules are demonstrated. Si photonics based TPA which can be used with commercial ROADM system is realized for the first time in the world. And, experimental results indicate that our proposed modular switch architecture successfully expand switch size of 8 x 8 Si photonics CDC optical switch maintaining CDC function. |
