Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a multipoint cable network system connected with many units and complicated wiring structure, it is difficult to find out the reason of failure of the network caused by cable deterioration, connection miss and so on. Therefore, diagnosis technology of the cable failure by detecting from a remote unit is required. TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) is well known method to analyze a transmission line. However, the conventional TDR method is applicable only for a simple cable failure such as a cable disconnection etc.. Moreover, there was a problem that it is difficult to analyze the cable failure point from measurement results when connecting accident occurs. In order to overcome this challenge, the authors propose a novel method, that is, the multi-mode TDR method. As a result, the proposed method can classify for specific failure mode, and becomes simplified.
