Power Adjustment Based on Anti-Windup Control in Cognitive Radio Networks

Abstract(in English) This paper considers power control for cognitive radio networks. Each transmitter in the secondary system of the networks must determine the transmission power so that quality of service (QoS) can be satisfied. In the DPC algorithm, which is a conventional method for the improvement of QoS, signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) significantly exceeds its target value due to constraints of the transmission power. On the other hand, our method reduces the error between the SINR and the target value by using anti-windup control so as to avoid large overshoot of the SINR. In the proposed method, when the transmission power decided by controller reaches its maximum or minimum, the actual transmission power is adjusted. Since the secondary network is represented as the system with polytopic uncertainty, the feedback gain of the proposed controller is designed so that the stability of the system can be ensured. In addition, it is shown that the design of the gain is formulated into a linear matrix inequality optimization problem. The performance of the proposed method is compared with that of the DPC algorithm by numerical simulation. In simulation results, it is shown that the error and the convergence of the SINR are improved by using the anti-windup control.
