Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, an impact of frozen ground on the snow depth estimation based on the satellite microwave remote sensing was investigated in the frozen ground region such as Siberia and Tibetan plateau. In addition, the microwave radiation transfer model with which the frozen soil layer was introduced was devised and the performance of this model was verified. Especially, unique land surface condition was identified in the Tibetan plateau. Snow estimation method over the frozen ground by using the AMSR-E, MODIS and AVNIR-2 was, therefore, devised.
