Multi-color fluorescence technique for light emission devices using lateral field emission phenomenon

Abstract(in English) In an lateral field emission type luminescent device using conductive ZnO nanorods(NRs) array, a simple technique for obtaining multi-color emission and high intensity emission has been developed. The technique uses phosphor/ZnO core-shell NRs prepared by depositing phosphor on ZnO NRs surface. ZnO NRs, which are isolated with each other, was grown on SiO2/glass substrate by thermal CVD. Then, ZnS:Mn as a phosphor was deposited on ZnO NRs array by electron beam evaporation, resulting in isolated ZnS:Mn/ZnO core-shell NRs array. The luminescent devices using such a NRs array exhibited a specific emission spectrum of ZnS:Mn and the emission intensity of more than ten times as large as that of the device using ZnO NRs array.
