Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed a new technique to measure the physical properties of the liquid surface such as the surface tension and the viscosity in noncontact manner. In this technique, a local electric field applied on the liquid surface induces a small deformation and the deformation is measured by the optical lever technique. We can obtain the surface tension from the meniscus and the viscosity from the relaxation time of the surface deformation.
