A Proposal of Grayscale Conversion Using Vertex Coloring Algorithm

Abstract(in English) Adjacent iso-lightness regions are converted into identical gray-level by the existing lightness-based method and it is a problem. To cope with this problem, a new grayscale conversion is proposed in this report and the conversion is carried out based on coloring the graph of which vertices are corresponding to regions in an input image. Additionally, to guarantee natural impression of output grayscale images, output gray-levels are approached to lightness component of corresponding regions in an input image as much as possible.
