Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is known that lightning causes damage to microwave wireless communication equipment used by electric power industry dominantly. In this report, a configuration of lightning protection of microwave communication equipment using radio-on-fiber (RoF) is proposed. Proposed configuration is effective to remove an entry pathway of lightning surge because optical fiber provides excellent electrical insulation. The design of carrier to noise ratio (CNR) in the proposed system was considered and the fundamental experiment of signal transmission using RoF link was also carried out. In the experiment, CNR of 40dB was successfully confirmed.
