Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Mode converter-splitters (MCSs) included in two-mode (de)multiplexer based on silica-based planar lightwave circuit with 1.5%-△ are structurally optimized to reduce their wavelength dependency of transmittance. A MCS consists of a multimode interference (MMI) coupler and access waveguides. Its wavelength dependency of transmittance is drastically reduced over the C-band after optimization on the width and length of the MMI coupler and the widths of access waveguides.
