Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report describes evaluations of electrostatic discharge (ESD) events from electromagnetic interference (EMI) aspects. IEC 61000-4-2 specifies ESD waveforms for EMC immunity tests. To meet this requirement, the specification of ESD generators for EMC immunity test is adjusted. As a result, ESD waveforms produced by these ESD generators do not necessarily reflect the properties in actual environments. To clarify the characteristics of actual ESD waveforms, we used a non-IEC61000-4-2-based generator. Based on measured data in a real environment, we found that the high-frequency energy, which was derived from the multi-resolution analysis, was affected by the material of discharge electrodes and the relative humidity.
