Abstract(in English) Fundamental techniques of phase-sensitive optical amplification are described from a viewpoint of optical fiber communication system. Phase sensitive amplifiers (PSA) have signal gain dependency on the optical phase of input signal light and are obtained by optical parametric amplification. It is expected that the regenerative repeater spacing is extended by adopting PSAs as amplifier repeaters in amplifier-repeated optical fiber transmission systems. Here, research progress, basic operation, realization, and basic configuration of PSAs are described. Subsequently, extension of regenerative repeater spacing in PSA-repeated optical fiber transmission system due to improvement both in signal to noise power ratio (SNR) and inter-symbol interference (ISI) are shown by numerical simulation.
