Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The eigenvalue of the associated equation of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE) is mathematically invariable and a lightwave propagation in nonlinear dispersive fiber can be described by the NLSE. Therefore, the eigenvalue is an ideal information carrier for optical fiber transmission through nonlinear dispersive fiber. On the other hand, digital coherent technologies have been recently introduced to optical fiber communication systems. In this report, we propose an eigenvalue demodulation method based on digital coherent technology. We also numerically demonstrate the feasibility of the eigenvalue modulated transmission in a dispersion shifted fiber.
