Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Optical single sideband (SSB) modulation have had some technical challenges due to the amplitude difference between two waveform incident to the optical SSB modulators. These are the modulation depth limit, residual sideband in suppressive frequency region, and waveform degradation from SPM in transmission fibers. In order to overcome the issues, optical SSB modulation with pre-processing of degree phase rotation is proposed in this report. Numerical simulations confirm that the 45 degree phase rotation can make the same amplitude between the drive voltages to the modulators and also make the 10-dB improvement on the sideband suppression ration. |
