Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we have evaluated the effectiveness of time domain equalization (TEQ) instead of a frequency domain equalization (FEQ) and cyclic prefix (CP) for an optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal transmission over multi-mode fiber (MMF) with large inter-symbol interferences (ISI). The FEQ and CP insertion/removal can easily suppress ISI; however it degrades transmission efficiency due to transmission of CPs which has no data. The use of TEQ in an optical OFDM system over MMF gives no degradation of the transmission efficiency because of no CPs insertion. Computer simulations have demonstrated that the TEQ enables us to achieve the transmission efficiency of 100%.
