Abstract(in English) | In recent years, a variety of digital processing of high resolution images is performed in digital appliances, such as large-sized TVs, digital cameras, and so on, where a large size of frame memory is required. In this paper, to reduce frame memory size, a fast image compression method using local feature of image is proposed. Experimental results show that it attains a compression ratio of 1/3, while keeping visual quality of images by means of adequate bit allocation. |
