Abstract(in English) The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) has been promoting the research and development of a new communication system that enables improvements in frequency utilization efficiency by integrating the frequencies of the terrestrial and satellite system. We report research and development results about which NICT has developed equipment and conducted experiments. We also report the recent trend of developments and standardization of similar to our system in other countries.
