Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report proposes a cooperative fall detection system using a Doppler radar and an array sensor that can be used in multipath and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environments. In the proposed system, the extracted features of the Doppler radar and the array sensor are used as input for two support vector machines (SVM), then an OR operation is performed on each pair of corresponding classification results to detect the falls. The fall detection accuracy of the proposed system is evaluated experimentally. The results show that the proposed system has higher detection accuracy than the stand-alone approaches consisting of either a Doppler radar or an array sensor.
