Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recovery from wide-scale disasters, rapid restoration of communications infrastructure has become an issue. Wireless mesh network can be cited as a way to build a network in a short time. However, because the nodes communicate with each other by using only the wireless LAN, radio disturbance will be caused by the radio interference, the distance or the obstacles. If a network is built with only wired LAN, laying is not easy because the wiring is required. In addition, to perform stable communication, it is necessary to use as many gateway nodes as possible. Hence, we propose Multi-gateway Mesh Network with Wired/Wireless Mutually Complementary Communication. By applying teaming which is used to improve the bandwidth and load balancing by bundling more than one NIC, we have built a mesh network in which wired LAN and wireless LAN are mixed. We implement this system inside bootable USB for automatic building and it has made it possible to build the Internet communication environment within 80 seconds. In addition to that we have been able to achieve 100% packet arrival rate by multi-hop communication in which wired and wireless are mixed.
