Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new tone mapping operation with integer input and integer output.High dynamic range (HDR) images cannot be displayed with conventional display devices directly. Therefore, a tone mapping operation (TMO) is necessary to generate a low dynamic range (LDR) image. Since pixel values of an HDR image are generally expressed in a floating point data format, a TMO is also implemented in floating point calculations. However, it requires huge memory space and computational cost. We treat a floating point number as two integers corresponding to the exponent part and the mantissa part. These two integers are utilized as the input-output of a TMO. As a result, Our method can reduce the memory space required for a TMO.
