Abstract(in English) Emerging scale-out-based architecture enables more flexible online resource control of network control servers. Furthermore, network functions virtualization allows telecommunication nodes to share server hardware in the resource pool. Maintenance requirements for the carrier-grade system are expected to be met more easily by the use of the pool of available resources. In this paper, we show server fault-tolerant and online software update methods for the scale-out-based system on the resource pool. We also propose a network control server middleware that allows application developers to use these methods without being aware of the distributed processing and the resource pool. Prototype implementation showed that the proposed maintenance methods do not make a significant impact on the quality of the service.
