Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Earlier studies of multi-view video streaming assume wired networks, which have a low propagation delay and high data rates. Our study assumes underwater acoustic networks, which have a high propagation delay and low data rates, to transmit the multi-view video to a user node. The underwater acoustic networks induce user's satisfaction by the increase of the response delay, and degradation of video quality. To prevent the increase of the response delay and degradation of video quality, we propose a cross-layer method for multi-view video streaming over underwater acoustic networks. The proposal decreases the response delay by predicting the next camera position for a user node. Even when the prediction failed, the proposal prevents the increase of the response delay and degradation of the video quality by encoding correct video frames with mis-predicted video frames. Evaluation results were obtained using JMVC encoder and multi-view video test sequence "Exit" which is provided by MERL. The evaluation shows that our proposal achieves a short response delay, and small degradation of video quality, as compared to naive methods.
