Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel progressive network recovery scheme from large scale failures, where disrupted network resources are gradually repaired through multiple stages. For carrier backbone networks, it is important to not only assure enough traffic volume involving transient stages, but also minimize the operation risk (e.g., the number of switched paths and/or routing). We formulate our problem as linear programming, and simulation results show that our formulation could reduce the number of switched path compared to the existing one with assuring the equivalent traffic volume. Then, we also propose a heuristic algorithm to handle large scale network, and it can compute nearly-optimal solution in a few minutes for a few hundred of nodes network.
