Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As part of rehabilitation, the modeling of viscoelasticity of ankle joint has been attempted in stroke subjects, with the aim of complete functional recovery after stroke. In the study, the resistance of the ankle joint in acute stroke and chronic stroke was measured. Hysteresis was observed because of the spasticity observed only acute stroke subjects. We then identified the intrinsic and reflex components of measured viscoelasticity, and we were able to perform a detailed evaluation by using parameter identification. The central nervous system show neural plasticity. Functional recovery is possible via passive motion-induced neural plasticity. Modeling including the neural reflex may be useful for the rehabilitation of motor functional recovery. Our results indicate that the measurement of viscoelasticity and modeling of the ankle joint are useful for neurorehabilitation.
