Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Increasing complexity of machinery functions, some of those functions could be sources of reciprocal hazards. The reciprocal hazards are those caused by a failure that can be safe and dangerous ones (i.e. shut down functions of robots, muting functions of Laser Scanner/Light Curtain, and etc.) Recently complex safety functions need to be assessed based on functional safety standards, although the standards lack the viewpoint of functional safety assessment of safety related-systems for the reciprocal hazards. This paper discusses how to assess functional safety of machinery for reciprocal hazards, and demonstrate the effeteness of proposed approach to analyzing failures and faults of, as well as, demands on and demand sates of the safety-related system for the machinery holistically.
