Abstract(in English) | This paper compares the features of two existing simulators, namely The ONE simulator and Scenargie, for simulation of Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs). Several advantages and disadvantages of each simulator in the following steps of performing a simulation study have been identified: 1) scenario data creation, 2) simulation execution, and 3) visualization and analysis of yielded simulation results. In summary, The ONE simulator provides various well-known DTN routing protocols for convenience of the users, but it overly abstracts out wireless communication system stack, which may result in inaccurate simulation results. Therefore, it should also provide higher fidelity communication system models, or should be used with another network simulator for more realistic simulation results. Scenargie, on the other hand, provides high fidelity communication system models, as well as user-friendly scenario creation, visualization and data analysis capabilities through its GUI, but it currently offers few DTN specific routing protocols. It needs to provide more DTN routing protocols such that users can easily perform comparative studies on existing DTN algorithms with little efforts. |
