Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Low energy Critical Infrastructure Monitoring (LECIM), each terminal should be driven in 5-10 years by battery and have 5 km communication range. The phased array beam-forming antenna is suitable for LECIM terminals since antennas should have small in size, high gain, and electrically-driven beam direction change. In this paper, a phased array beam-forming antenna with 2-layer patch antennas have been proposed and measured. Measured results show that the proposed antenna can work from 2.40 GHz to 2.48 GHz and have more than 10 dBi gain with 70 degree steering coverage. Thus, the proposed phased array beam-forming antenna is feasible for LECIM of 2.4 GHz band and suitable for LECIM beam-forming communications systems.
