Novel Preamble Designs for IEEE P802.15.4k System with DSSS PHY

Abstract(in English) In this work, our evaluation of 802.15.4k DSSS PHY preambles reveals that the detection performance of proposed 2-octet and 4-octet preambles is not adequate to realize high throughput at low Eb/No environment. To solve this problem, we propose a novel pattern for 4-octet preamble. The new 4-octet preamble pattern provides the required detection rate of 10^<-3> at the target Eb/No of 4dB. Further we propose the 2-octet preamble with an aperture technique and successfully reduced the false detection rate low enough to meet the requirement and enable higher throughput at low Eb/No.
