A Proposal of 60 GHz Beam-tracking Communications Systems with High Gain FEC and Simple Equalize

Abstract(in English) In order to realize lower power consumption multi-Gbps communications terminals in 60 GHz, this paper propose a single carrier with FEC (Forward error correction) communications system together with a beam tracking, switching receiver antenna and a simple equalizer if necessary. In the proposed system, communications path will be switched from the LOS (line of sight) path to one of the best S/N paths when the LOS path is interrupted by a moving object such as human body and continue the communications. To validate the proposed system, this paper took the channel models created by IEEE802.15.3c std., and proposed the way to extract the effective data for BER (Bit Error Rate) computer simulation from 100 channel realizations in the TG3c channel model. By using this modified TG3c channel model, we carried out BER computer simulation for TG3c NLOS residential and desktop channel models. The simulation results show that BER performances of the proposed system in TG3c modified residential channel model are less than 1 dB degradation by applying only FEC, and ones in the TG3c modified desktop channel model are less than 0.8 dB by applying an FEC and simple equalizer. Thus, the proposed system is good for multi-Gbps transmission over low power consumption portable terminals in 60 GHz.
