Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new interactive interface for recipe search on tablet devices. This interface applies a spoken dialogue agent to assist users' operation. It allows users to find recipes not only by keywords but also by natural sentence queries including those regarding cooking purposes such as dish genres or cooking situations. It furthermore aims to help users easily select satisfactory recipes from among thousands of potential options. The agent asks the user a series of questions related to various cooking purposes in order to narrow down the potential recipes that meet users' wants. The experiment results show that, compared with a conventional keyword search interface, the proposed interface saved 31% of search time. Moreover, it performed better in terms of search effort and satisfaction with search results based on users' evaluation.
