Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To observe the use of ICT services and daily lives of the people, we performed a fieldwork using of ethnographic study in two ways. 1) Observers stay with user's home (direct observation). 2) Observers don't stay with user's home, but a video camera is set up in there (indirect observation). We revealed role of ICT for family communication using scenes of family sitting together or eating. We weigh the advantages and disadvantages of two types of observation methods, and offer a combination of two methods aimed at home.
