| Abstract(in English) | The topics of the optical access communication technologies in OFC/NFOEC 2013 held in Anaheim (U.S.) on March 17, 2013 to March 21 are introduced. Regarding the PON technique which is the mainstream of optical access, a lot of studies on NG-PON2 which is under standardization in ITU-T/FSAN and beyond NG-PON2 technologies which are categorized as NG-PON3 have been reported. Moreover, topics of the optical access network for the wireless base station accommodation which is considered to be the main application of NG-PON2 and NG-PON3 were discussed aggressively. On the other hand, number of technical reports regarding 10 G-EPON and XG-PON which are PON of 10 Gb/s class which are classified into NG-PON1 is decreasing. However, many optical pluggable type transceivers are displayed by the component venders mainly in China and South Korea, it seems that commercial deployment of such system is approaching. |
