Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The fluorescence intensity of 3 was 35% of that for the control compound 4. This indicates the trichloroquinone group efficiently quenched the fluorescence of 3. Judging by CPK Models, the shortest edge-to-edge separation of the chromophores of 3 is about 8Å, considered as fluctuation of conformation. This shows a nobel calixarene-based supramolecular system where through-space donor-to-acceptor electron transfer is observed upon photoexcitation.
