Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) These days, due to wide-spread of smart phones, data traffic is becoming very heavy. To increase traffic capacity, the most effective way is introduction of micro-cell system. TEM-mode semi-coaxial filters of 10 to 15 poles are usually used in base stations. The volume of the filter duplexer occupies about the half of the base station. Thus, miniaturization of the filter duplexer is very important for next-generation mobile communication. One approach for filter miniaturization is use of multi-mode resonance. Some multi-mode filters using ceramic resonators have been reported. However, those are too expensive to use in base stations. Thus, problem, we have to consider, is size and cost of the filter used in small base station. For this reason, the purpose of this research is to develop a quadruple-mode cavity-type filter mainly using TEM-mode.
