Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | An optical data transmission demonstration performed from a moving vehicle to a fixed optical ground station is introduced. The demonstration shows the improved characteristics of the acquisition and tracking functions of the optical communication equipment developed in a project driven by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The vehicle is equipped with video cameras as well as the optical communication equipment. The optical communication equipment transmits the video images in real-time to the fixed optical ground station when the vehicle is in motion. The observed characteristics of the acquisition and tracking functions show that the undesired influence on data transmission such as propagation angle fluctuation of the signal beam is suppressed so that the optical link is maintained. |
