Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Bandwidth enhancement with lossless data compression is one of the key solutions to improve performance of custom stream computing with FPGAs. We need to compress multiple streams and encode them into a single channel for bandwidth enhancement. In this paper, we propose an extra-code-free (ECF) method which allows to encode multiple data streams into a single channel without any extra code to distinguish source stream. We also show design of an ECF encoder and an ECF decoder. We verify the behavior of the hardware and evaluate its performance by implementing it with FPGA.
