Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates interference suppression in receivers by a joint evaluation of a 3D ray-tracing assessment of the multi-dimensional propagation environment and a link-level simulation. For coexistence between an incumbent broadcast network and an opportunistic wireless system, there are numerous studies focusing on protection against the incumbent system. On the other hand, performance degradation of the opportunistic system has not been well investigated to-date. In the light of the TVWS utilisation for cellular systems in the uplink, it has been anticipated that the cellular base stations (BSs) could suffer from interference caused by a digital terrestrial television (DTT) transmitter. In this contribution, a 3D ray-tracing tool developed and validated by Bristol's CCR over many years is employed to analyse the impact of interference caused by coexistence with DTT for both non-line-of-sight (NLoS) and line-of-sight (LoS) conditions. The joint evaluation of the 3D ray-tracing and the link-level simulation shows that the interference rejection combining (IRC) receiver in the LoS condition achieves a performance close to that of the NLoS condition although a strong interference exists for the LoS condition. From the results obtained, a cellular system employing the IRC receiver is shown to increase the channel capacity by utilising TVWS in the uplink.
