Abstract(in English) In recent years, for offloading of mobile communication systems, heterogeneous wireless network has been discussed. In heterogeneous wireless network, throughput deteriorations in various systems from increase of terminals are different since they have different multiple access scheme. In w ireless local area network (WLAN), carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) is used for multiple access control, so that throughput would be decreased by increasing of frame collision. In addition, the modulation with lower data rates would lead to longer frame, which means low data rates would occupy more time in WLAN. As a result, the average data rates would be lower. In this paper, we proposed a handover criteria that considering number of terminals in WLAN cells. By adopting the proposed criteria, we can suppress the degradation of user throughput and system throughput in heavy traffic environment.
