Abstract(in English) This study addresses some issues regarding with the Designated Administrator System established by 2003 amendment of Local Autonomy Law. Local municipals have their personal information protection ordinance to protect personal information of their inhabitants, but designated administrators are not under the regulation of the ordinance but the control of personal information protection law. This study considers the difference of handling of personal information between public sector and civil sector, and examines how to treat personal information collected and handled by designated administrator.
