Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents performances of Smart Failure Insensitive Routing (S-FIR), which is introduced as an alternative of the current Smart Failure Insensitive Routing (FIR). The first problem of FIR is that the rerouted packet may travel an unnecessary path, causing the resources to be used inefficiently. Second, FIR may fail to establish a rerouted path in some circumstances. S-FIR is presented in order to avoid those two problems. This is achieved by the use of a dynamic backup routing table that is generated according to the link an unexpected packet comes from. This allows the subsequent packets to be routed appropriately by avoiding the rolling back problem of FIR. Our performance evaluations show that S-FIR significantly improves the resource utilization efficiency by reducing the rerouted path lengths. Then, S-FIR is proven to guarantee that any packet reaches its destination as long as there is a valid path.
