Development and field experiment of energy-efficient management method in WSN

Abstract(in English) The energy efficient network management technology, which achieve stable practical use and long practical use of sensor networks, is necessary for WSN (Wireless Sensor Networks) which is being built in the field of the environment observation and the smart grid. Our proposed ARCEM (Autonomous Reply Control method for Efficient Management) aims to save energy by when the gateway which manages sensor nodes settle on reply method of each sensor node and notify in self-controlled way, and each sensor node reply to the request of management information from a gateway according to reply method which gateway indicates with the request. In this paper, our proposed ARCEM is described, and the energy consumption reduction effect of the ARCEM by a computer simulation is described too. Furthermore, in this paper, about the development of ARCEM on actual equipment is described and a demonstration experiment in actual field using developed equipment is described too. In the demonstration experiment in actual field, after building of sensor networks which collect environmental information in a high school in Fukushima-ken, we applied our proposed ARCEM on the said sensor networks and confirmed behavior of ARCEM. It was confirmed that developed ARCEM on actual equipment behaves normally in the actual sensor network as a result of the demonstration experiment.
