Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed a helmholtz-type coil using a high-temperature superconductor (HTS) for 700 MHz NMR pickup coil having high quality factor (Q). We designed coil shape of a helmholtz-type 1 turn coil made by HTS (DyBCO coil) and normal metal (Cu coil) by using the electromagnetic simulations Sonnet-EM software. The Q of the DyBCO coil at 77 K and the Cu coil at room temperature were 3340 and 167 by the simulations. The 1 turn coils were fabricated by using 200-nm-thick DyBCO thin film deposited on a sapphire substrate, and 3-μm-thick Cu thin film on a sapphire substrate. We measured the Q value by a vector network analyzer. The Q of the Cu coil was 102 at room temperature, and that of the DyBCO coil was 2936 at 77 K. These experimental results indicate that the present DyBCO coil is more advantageous than the Cu coil for high-sensitivity NMR measurements.
