Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fatalities on the road per 100,000 population in Japan have decreased over the past decade catching up with the decrease in European countries. However the fatality and injury crashes of bicycle have relatively increased and accidents on the community roads have also relatively increased in Japan. Current situations of Tokyo, which suffers from the high priority bicycle accidents issue identified in 9^ Japanese National Traffic Safety Program, are to be compared with those of Japan as a whole and those of European countries, and encountering crashes of bicycles and vehicles on the community roads are examined by associating impaired functions of elderly persons and then recommendations of counter measures are given.
