Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Hollow core photonic bandgap fibers (PBGF) have gathered much attention in recent years because of their intriguing propagation properties. By the photonic bandgap (PBG) effect, light can be guided into the air-core with low nonlinearities and an ultimate low loss property. However, the relatively narrow transmission bandwidth of conventional hollow-core PBGFs has limited their use in some applications. In this work, we propose an improved triangular lattice of rods (ITLR) for their cladding structure and show that the ITLR generates wider PBG than the conventional triangular lattice of holes (TLH) and square lattice (SL).
