Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a high sensitivity coherent optical time domain reflectometry employing frequency division multiplexing (FDM-OTDR) for diagnosing optical submarine fiber links. We demonstrate 200-channel high-density frequency division multiplexing coherent OTDR employing apodization and nonlinear suppression schemes. The sensitivity enhancement is 13 dB by comparison with conventional coherent OTDR.
