Abstract(in English) Fukuyama photovoltaic (PV) power plant constructed by the Chugoku Electric Power Company, Incorporated has been on commercial since December, 2011. The rated power is 3MW. The detail generated power and the availability factor are published on the Web site of Fukuyama PV power plant at regular intervals. This paper aims at trial calculation of power costs for a mega-solar power plant using the data published on the Web site of Fukuyama PV power plant. The mean value of the availability factor is 17.3% at Fukuyama PV power plant while the mean value is 12% in Japan. It is concluded that the weather conditions of the Setouchi region are more suitable the PV power plant from the economic point of view.
