Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | People perceive eye-contact even if the other does not gaze their eyes accurately. Volume of eye-contact perception is defined as an area which people misperceive it. Previous studies reveal that volumes of eye-contact are different among individuals. This study examined individual and environmental factors which affect the volume. In the experiment, the participants responded whether the experimenter gazed their eyes or other spot in their face (11 by 11 lattice of 2cm increments). The results show that volumes of eye-contact are positive correlated with social anxiety, and the volumes are decrease when participants are gazed by the opposite sex. |
